What is the age limit for students?

There is no age limit, however, we recommend a minimum age of 4 years old. All lessons are online, so using a mouse and clicking links is required.

Do I have to know Arabic to join?

No. We have many students who came without reading one letter in Arabic and have now memorized a whole chapter of the Quran. Most of our students are non-Arabic speakers.

Do you offer any student discount?

Yes. We encourage you to apply for an IQRA scholarship. In collaboration with your accredited school or university, your entire course could be funded!

Do I have to be Muslim to apply for the scholarship?

No. Scholarship is based solely on your study of Arabic or Islamic Theology. It’s open to anyone of all faiths.

Is it a cash based award?

The award is paid directly to the institution in which the student is studying Arabic or Islamic Theology. It covers the tuition of the course.

Can I choose to have a female teacher?

Yes. Most women prefer to be taught by a female. Our female teachers are certified with ijaza, have taught for years, and have attained recognition as a scholar. They are all highly qualified and offer a level of comfort to our female students. Let us know your preference and we are happy to arrange it.

How do you pick your teachers?

With thousands of applications a year, we are blessed to be in a position to choose only the best. It is a rigorous application and background check process. How do you maintain quality?

Every lesson is recorded. There is no other program that offers recorded sessions and the opportunity to view them. The academic advising team uses it for training purposes and to continually find ways to improve and make it dynamic for the student.

Do the teachers speak English?

Yes. With the majority of our students being native English speakers, it’s important that we maintain a staff of English-speaking teachers and advisors. Be assured, our native Arabic speaking teachers all have English aptitude.

IQRA was founded in 2017 by three fathers, an MIT research scientist, a Tufts University educator, and Al-Azhar University Sheikh.
