About me

With an incredible 37 years of teaching experience, Najla Altyyeb is a true master teacher and a pillar of the IQRA Network community. Her journey began in high school, where a personal love for the beauty of Allah’s words blossomed into a lifelong mission: to help others master Quran recitation and connect deeply with the divine message.

A Lifetime of Expertise and Certification

Although she holds a degree in English education, Najla quickly realized her true calling was in teaching the Quran. Her profound expertise is validated by an Ijazah in Qur’an recitation (Iqra’) and a certification in the foundational Qaida Noorania method. Demonstrating her commitment to lifelong learning, she is currently working toward earning her Ijazah in Hifdh and Al-Jazariyyah.

While living in Jeddah, Najla was blessed to serve as the supervisor of the Islamic Center for non-Arabs, where she honed her skills in teaching Tajweed and Tafseer to non-native speakers. This experience gave her unique insight into making the Quran’s lessons accessible and practical for daily life.

A Philosophy of Precision and Passion

As an expert Tajweed teacher, Najla’s philosophy is centered on both technical precision and spiritual connection. She works meticulously with students to perfect their pronunciation and application of Tajweed rules, but her ultimate goal is for them to understand the Quran and live by its lessons. There is no greater joy for her than hearing a student finally pronounce a difficult letter correctly—she celebrates these victories as if they were her own. For Najla, teaching the Quran is not just a profession; it is her purpose, her passion, and her daily source of joy.

How To Join IQRA

You ask, we answer

Here are responses to some frequently-asked questions

Can I choose to have a female teacher?

Yes. Most women prefer to be taught by a female. Our female teachers are certified with ijaza, have taught for years, and have attained recognition as a scholar. They are all highly qualified and offer a level of comfort to our female students. Let us know your preference and we are happy to arrange it.

How do you pick your teachers?

With thousands of applications a year, we are blessed to be in a position to choose only the best. It is a rigorous application and background check process. They must go through a preliminary round of vetting before being offered an interview. After hiring, they are required to successfully complete a training and onboarding procedure before they teach their first student. All our teachers have regular in-service training sessions to empower them with the latest tools in education.

How do you maintain quality?

Every lesson is recorded. There is no other program that offers recorded sessions and the opportunity to view them. The academic advising team uses it for training purposes and to continually find ways to improve and make it dynamic for the student.

Do the teachers speak English?

Yes. With the majority of our students being native English speakers, it’s important that we maintain a staff of English-speaking teachers and advisors. Be assured, our native Arabic speaking teachers all have English aptitude.
